There is an old saying that timing is everything, and so it proved in the final round of this year's Competition.
After losing the lead at the end of period 14, "Whatever It Takes" (Stantec, Italy)
had dropped back to 4th place at the end of period 17, but they held their nerve in a tense finish, and an impressive 11% growth
that outscored the teams above them enabled them to become the Enginuity 2024 Champions with a finishing score of
2,212 pts, and it was richly deserved after being Runners Up in the last two years.
They can now retire from the Competition (as previous champions must) with their heads held high,
knowing that they have become the first Stantec team to win Enginuity, and across the global Stantec world their success
will be celebrated.
Congratulations to the team so expertly led by Andrea Casalone for demonstrating their superb management skills
against a high quality field of finalists.
Commiserations go the valient "The Mighty Turtles" (Parsons, United States),
who finally relinquised their top spot to finish Runners Up, and the highest placed United States team ahead of
"Stan Movers" (Stantec, United States) who finished 3rd.
All the way down the final table the teams should be proud of their performance, finishing in the top 12 of another
large international field of starters, a superb effort, and they would all be a sound long term investment
if it was the real world.
